Happy Esbat!

Yesterday was the full moon, lovelies, and I had a great time. I was feeling well enough to make two types of fudge for the fairies (one gluten and dairy free, and the other with evaporated milk in it!). I did some personal workings with my close friends, and we sat back and talked while the magic did its thing.

But what is an Esbat? For me, it’s very much like a sabbat, except it’s about the moon.

I know, I know, it’s technically not ‘right’. Sabbats are traditionally celebrations, time to ‘turn the wheel’, while Esbats are times for personal workings. But for me, the two intertwine.

You see, I’m not much of a moon person. Sacrilege, I know. Most witches are massive moon people. But I am a sun and daylight person. As such, I find myself wanting to do workings in line with the sun, during Sabbats. For me, I find that these seasonal turnings are a great way to keep my life moving forward.

And yet, the end of this full moon feels like it’s marking the beginning of spring. Here, it is warm now. The sun is shining fully, the snow is melting. After all, the full moon is usually the coldest part of the lunar cycle. So now, with the full moon ended and spring approaching, it is lovely out. I am gearing up, starting my plans, for spring and the garden. I will be setting up my sprouts soon, but not yet!

So in this sense, it feels like the Esbat has taken on the role of the Sabbat, heralding the closeness of spring.

And you? How do you define a Sabbat versus an Esbat? How do you celebrate both, and how do you view them in your traditions?

I don’t have any particular wisdom for you beyond that, but I do wish you all a lovely seasonal beginning. I hope you enjoyed your full moon, did plenty of lovely workings, and are ready for the season to come!

HAPPY SCREAMING!

*screams incoherently*

You know when they say that dreams *can* come true? Well a major one of mine just did!

Ladies and Gentlefolx, I am SO FUCKING PROUD to announce that Farfadel will now be sold IRL in a Queer Bookshop, namely the fabulous ‘Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni’s Room‘!!!!!

Giovanni’s Room is an amazing bookshop with a whole wealthy smack-gob of history behind it, as well as being a thrift shop (we all know thrift shops are the best!). These amazing folks have agreed to sell Farfadel’s magical story with you all, and I couldn’t (really!) be more excited!

So what does this mean? Well! If you live in the states, you can order from them at this link for a Tale of Two Queens and this one for A Tale of Adelaide and Shadow! If you already have a copy of my books, and want to support them directly, this is their donation link.

But what else?! I am just SO excited, y’all, I’m thinking of doing some sort of a giveaway! I’m thinking some free coloring pages, some artwork, SOMETHING to celebrate and raise the volume on this awesome shop! So if you have an idea of what you’d like to see done, let me know! And if you know of a local indie shop that you think needs some Farfadel in it, message them, and let me know about it!

And finally, thank you all SO MUCH for your support over the years. It means the world to me!

Take care ❤

Picture Share! Princess Rebella!

So, wifey built me a new computer! It has windows 10 and the ensuing krita on it, and I messed around on it. And ohhh, I actually like this picture!

I have to say, the single thing that has helped my art the most (beside my wifey’s critiques) is doing my own makeup studiously. Y’all, that REALLY helps figure out how to paint a face. Blend, blend, blend, contour!

Lately, I’ve been drawing the characters from Lage’s Game, and I gotta say, I really do like this picture of Rebella! Yes, that nasty princess will be quite important in the story I feel… I have some idea of what kind of future she has in the story, but I’m not sure. Things can change so much! But yes, she will be important!

Anyways, I am well, and have spent a lot of time art-ing around 🙂 so enjoy this picture, let me know what you think, and have a great evening/day!

Take care y’all, much love to you all ❤

Author Copies!

Guess who just ordered author copies for the giveaway? Me! And it was quite the adventure!

You see, due to covid or some other blasted reason, I wasnt technically able to order author copies. Bevause those seem to go through the states. I had to go through amazon.ca and but them… at full price! Ech! Yuck! Thankfully it was the first time I ever bought something on Amazon (I know, I’m a rare breed) so I had free shipping otherwise this would NOT have been possible!

So this author is so excited! I cant wait!

Also, if you’re excited too and don’t know how to help out… drop a comment! I am gathering folks who want to help me spread the word for the giveaway, and I have goodies in store for anyone who helps out! You will get to participate in the giveaway as well, so you can get double goodies if you win! So drop a comment and I will contact you!

Now I’m going to rest and knit, finally casting off on a complicated sock I’ve been stalling on. I cast it on at the beginning of this pandemic and I’m just finishing the first one tonight!

Have a good night everyone, lots of love to y’all 🥰

The calf portion of the sock!

It Writes Again!!!

I am so happy to have been able to bring you all some more Chaos & Kuryo, y’all! I was so worried last night that I wouldn’t be able to write this story anytime soon! And yet, today was an excellent writing day!

Not only did I write in Chaos & Kuryo, but I also wrote over a thousand words in Ranger’s story, and almost two thousand in … a new story! That Beauty and the Beast retelling? I finally was able to start it!

Ahhh, yessss. Today is a victory day. I’m just so happy!

What caused this burst in productivity? I think it’s because I relaxed a lot today. me and the wifey watched two episodes of the Witcher (so much TV for us!). It was raining and snowing here today, so it was a quiet and chill day.

Anyways, that’s my update! I hope you and yours are all safe and happy. I wish you all the best ❤

Todays Rant

Today has been a magnificent day for me. I woke up to a lovely 5 star review on my book’s Amazon page, courtesy of emberbear thank you so much!!! 💖💕💖💕💖💕

Y’all, I’d already gotten a review, but it was a 4 star and I have to say I was a tad bit disappointed with a 4 star – but now I got a 5 star!!! Way to kick off a day!

So yeah, I was super happy to start my day off with 😊 so then I poke around Amazon some more and *gasp * my latest novel (the first in this ramble of chaos & kuryo) is now up for preorder!!!

Y’all, I am so excited! My authors journey just keeps getting better and better, and I dont know who to thank for it (anyone know who the God/patron saint of authors is? Anyone?) Imma stick with Lucifer, haha, who seems to love self inserting into my novels. Oh well, why not? Christians get to write about their God all the time.

So anyways, this is my teeny tiny rant of the day. I’ve napped and wrote, and cleaned up some stuff outside (I went outdoors! Victory!). I might even write again!

And in case you’re feeling down because of the world news, here is an adorable puddy pudd doing puddy naps. I wish you all a lovely day and lots of health! 😊💕😊💕

OMG- More Dream Material!

Last night, I went to bed as normal, and fell asleep as normal.  However! I woke up in the middle of the night (o woe, my muse doth sing at unwelcome hours!) with an IDEA!

Because, you see, I think I fell asleep thinking about how I wanted Chaos to have a nice dom, or something like that. Well! I woke up with a scene in my head of who the PERFECT dom would be! And this kept me up for several hours, just laying in bed and thinking about it.

Now, I don’t want to tell y’all who it is, because I’m worried it won’t work out and I don’t want to raise everyone’s hopes. However! This afternoon I went and napped with my wife and AGAIN! ANOTHER DREAM! This time of who the dom’s second in command/person who looks after Chaos if the first dom isn’t around would be. Oooooh * fans self * so much domming action. So much hotness.

This is maybe all fuelled by the fact that I met someone recently in the BDSM scene who spoke lengthily to me and my wife about their involvement in the scene and how it helps them balance their life, sort of thing. It was very interesting!

Now I just have to write the story, and hope that all the hotness I’ve imagined will come through on the screen. AH! I hope so.

Speaking of hot things, one thing that made my heart skip a beat today was that *dun dun dunnn * someone read part of “A Tale of Two Queens” on wattpad! And they saved it in a bookshelf named ‘amazing stories’ (or something like that). Sensing that they liked the story (and knowing that only about half has been posted and will ever be posted on wattpad), I asked them if they wanted to have a pdf of the novel. To which they said no, they wanted to pay for it!They then went on to tell me how much they liked the story.

My author’s heart melted into a squishy mess. *sobs happily* I know I have silent readers out there, but I’m a ‘glass half empty’ kind of person some days. I tend to beat myself up and feel like a failure. So yeah, this made my day.

So final note: thank you to all of you readers and friends who keep up with me. You make my life just a little bit more sparkly every day, with every like and comment and page view. Thank you, from the bottom of my squishy heart.

40,000 words so far! Yay!

Yes! “Attack of the White Clouds” has reached 40,000 words! As of today, critical events have happened and (I think) the White Clouds are nearing their defeat! But who knows, really?

I have to say that writing the “Attack of the White Clouds” has been quite something. It’s not a story in the way I usually write them. Usually I feel like my stories are pushed forward by outlandish characters, humor, and even more outlandish happenings. This story – not so much. The main character (who I just realized recently, 30,000 words later, is nameless) is calm, pensive, and not at all over-the-top. There is no exaggeration to her character. She is very sensible. Plus I hit the first battle scene only recently, around the 38,000 mark. What?! How can that be? It’s all just – suspense. Mystery. At least I like to think so. It’s a very calm yet grim story.

I tend to like this story. It really compelled me when I first wrote it years ago and again now, I find myself getting all caught up in the characters again. The story feels more ‘mature’ and less ‘foolish’. There is a seriousness to it all, a heaviness to the story.

What does this mean? It means it really doesn’t feel like something I’d come up with. I am rather mystified by this story some days. It feels like a gift, like someone else’s story that I’m being asked to write. I feel very much like I’m part of the audience in this story, except I happen to be the transcriber. Usually I feel like I know so much behind a story but in this case, it feels like the story is behind a veil, like it is reaching out to me but that it doesn’t quite belong. I’m not sure how to describe it, really, but it’s strange. I know so little of this story yet it is deep and built up in its own way. The characters feel more profound than mine usually are (I think).

Oh, and let’s take a minute to discuss the naming of these characters. For the life of me, when naming them, I just couldn’t give them actual names. I think Ch- was the first one I actually ‘named’, and was like ‘that’s not a name, its a sound’. Well. The name hath stuck and I don’t know what to do with it. I mean, after learning a bit about ancient languages and how sounds were guttural sounds were used, I guess it’s not the most outlandish names ever used. But still. It irks me.

But hey, I’ll survive. Another thing for the editing board to take care of (as in, I’ll deal with it later!). How is everyone finding the story so far? What do you think of our main character? What do you think of the villainous Ch-? Tell me all!

That’s It! It’s the End!

I’m not sure how to call this. The end of an ‘era’? Starting with a clean slate? Beginning the new year with a fresh book? Because, y’all, I just finished typing out the very last words to Chaos’s story.

I’m not joking! Today I went to a family brunch, came home, and wrote. I thought ‘hey, maybe I’ll get close to the ending’ but here it is. On the first day of the New Year, I finished Chaos’s novel. Which, for the record, I started last June (I think?). Less than a year ago, just after a massive move. Wow! Less than a year of growth, challenges, and so much writing! So much drawing, too!

What started out as just a dream has now become a full novel that ties in with another of my full novels (Dreaming of Lights) and has totally changed me. Chaos has grown so much, and with them I’ve become even more dedicated to my craft. I’ve started to really ‘feel’ myself as an author. I’m starting to connect with people via my stories (gasp! my dream is coming true!) and I’ve gotten my writing anxiety largely under control. I even started drawing out my story as a comic!

I feel so lucky to live where I live. Every day or so I tell my wife how happy I am to live out here, in the countryside. It’s done me wonders, as well as having a social worker and getting on testosterone. My anxiety and organizational skills are truly getting under control and my gender changes are happening. My mood is so balanced. I feel great. I haven’t been this happy for most of my life. Just truly happy to be here and alive, and so lucky to have what I have. I cherish everything and everyone (including all of you, dear readers one and all!) and feel like this is as good as it gets. Everything more from here on is just whipped cream on top of it a drink. Nice, but not the meat of it all.

So tonight, on the first day of this New Year, I will be opening up a document from another dream story (and creating a playlist for it, because I can’t write without music). I will probably be working on and posting that one, as well as working on Ranger’s on the sly (without posting). Y’all, I just can’t wait to start this year now. I’m so excited to see how you all feel about Chaos’s ending (to see all the treachery come to surface!) and to then share another of my weird, wacky, stories with you all. There is just so much to look forward to in this new decade.

Much love to you all, and a great year!
