Fairy Colouring Book ~ Coming Soon!

It’s not a mystery, but I haven’t talked about it enough! I am making a colouring book based off the Farfadel series, mainly about fairies, fantasy, and happy cute things!

Set in the gorgeous lands of Farfadel, surrounded by flowers and happiness, this colouring book is shaping up to be exactly what I had planned it to be – cute and flowery.

I have to say, I am super proud of how it’s coming along so far. The images are up to snuff (in my humble opinion) for a colouring book. They’re cute and adorable, and that’s what I wanted for this book.

When will this book be coming out? Really soon! I personally want to kick it off on the start of spring, so in March, hopefully! It should be feasible, as I have only *drumroll* nine images left to draw up and format! Yes, Nine! That’s not a huge amount, and personal happenings aside, I should be able to make that in the coming month!

But there is one thing I haven’t prepared… and that is the promotion of my adorable coloring book. How do I get this baby out there into the world? Anyone up for a book blog tour? Do those even work? Should I inundate Instagram with clips of my pictures? Facebook? Someone give me some advice, haha, I’m terrible at this part of the process!

The Birdie Wheel of the Year Book is Available NOW!

It’s true! Cuteness abounds, adventure awaits, and the TwoLoveBirds are at it again in this lil’ picture book!

I wish I had quotes from big-frilled people to tell you how awesome and adorable this bookie-book is. But I don’t. I’ve showed it only to my team at Evergreen Crossing, and my wife. Both are a little biased in their love, I think.

But just look at this wee picture!

Again, as usual, if you are splendidly broke and wishing for a pdf version for your children, feel free to contact me. I will gladly give it, in exchange for some sort of promotion or a review.

As for me, well, life has been hard lately. Really, super-duper, hard. I’ve had to drop out of Woolston because of lack of functioning due to life issues. I’m getting my meds revised, too. Overall, I’m keeping my chin up, and the worst patch is over. But, still, it’s like a grieving with waves of ups and downs (or so my social worker tells me). Right now I’m on an up, but I foresee dark places for the next few months. Especially around the upcoming Christmas.

On the upside, I am still able to write (yay!) and am working on a new romance novel that tackles mental health issues. I will keep you all posted with updates eventually!

Birdie Book!

Me and my fabulous team from Evergreen Crossing have gotten quite seriously underway for this latest project – so I’m so so pleased to announce that *drumroll* I’m going to be releasing a book on the Wheel of the Year!

Just look at dis pictah!

Doesn’t it just give you all the squees? All the happy fuzzy feels? Yessss.

I don’t want to say too much yet, but it’s about the Wheel of the Year, it’s featuring the birdies, and it’s adorable and has SO many FUCKINGLY cute pictures in it. I know that there’s a lot, because I’ve done a ton and there’s still TWENTY fucking TWO left to do. And it’s cute because, yeah, birdies.

So yep, lots of work done, lots more to do, and that’s about all I wanted to say today.

Old Mother Frost is a Yuletide book based on the pagan origins of the holidays. It is based on ancient tales of a German goddess who predates most of the popular characters of Norse mythology.
Although Pagan Kids began as a book project, since May 2020 it has evolved into a larger resource for Norse pagan children. Now the website, pagankids.org, offers everything from free printable activities and mini lessons for kids, activity planning ideas for the family, and quick and in depth articles based on many related topics.

About the Author
Jennifer Hartman, the author of Old Mother Frost, is also the creator of @PaganKids; an online resource full of simple and educational material based on Nordic folklore, beliefs, mythology and history. Goals Pagan Kids began as a book project covering the Norse pagan origins of Yuletide. Jennifer Hartman wanted a Yuletide book for her kids encompassing the general feeling of warmth and magic the holidays bring, while basing it on the Nordic origins and traditions of Yule. Not finding anything available, she sought to write Old Mother Frost, a humble and inclusive book for all children. Copies are IN!!!

Wow, that was fast! It was four days early! Also delivered by a probably gay man, so bonus points!

Anyways, I’m so so excited! Both books have their flaws that I’m only seeing now, but hey, that’s life right?

So what does this mean? It means I now have to seriously plan out my giveaway rules and launch the whole thing, within the next three days (I gave myself that limit). During that week, I want to keep posting about the book, doing a social media blitz. Which will definitely be taxing and tiring on me, so I need to be cautious about how much I do. But! Its exciting! And fun!

The only downer, really, is that the image quality on the Farfadel novel cover isnt what I hoped for. It’s a bit dull looking. And as for the activity book, there are tiny dots within some of the pictures! Eeek! I never noticed them (probably because my computer screen is dusty) but that’s definitely not up to par for what I hoped. But besides that… they’re everything I dreamed of. They’re almost perfect. So I officially pat myself on the back for that. 😊

Blaaargh ~ Still not Feeling Well and Children’s Activities Book

So I’ve been trying to write and keep my chin above water. It hasn’t been going well. I saw my social worker recently and that helped, but, yeah, no writing has been happening.

It’s not like I’m in crisis mode, so please dont worry. I’m just… not so well. Everything feels monumentous. I do my basic chores, and feel I have no energy left. I’m easily obsessed with the need to “work” and get “stuff done”, which has left me overworking on a particular project -> that of a pagan childrens activity book.

Now, this book is aimed at kindergarten level children. It will feature a bit of math, some coloring pages, some word puzzles, and more. But absolutely everything will be pagan or nature themed. From the word choices to the pictures, everything is pagan/earth centric.

Now, of course, this book features my very own “twolovebirds” birds as the main characters, featured in almost all the activities and accompanying the children through the book. They will be shown in ritual gear, worshipping, and engaging with nature.

Do I think I’ll make a ton of money selling this book? Fuck no. I doubt it’ll sell at all. Honestly, I’d be shocked if more than 5 copies get sold. But, it’s something I really want to do. I’m insanely proud of every little part of this book, and consider it to be quite an accomplishment. It’s teaching me a lot about formatting and it’s pretty fun, when I’m not obsessing over “getting it done”.

Overall, I really wished I had a bit more of a grip lately. I’ve been dropping in and out of my schedule due to lack of energy. I really wish I was capable of doing some awesome networking/sales pitching for my books. But hey. Not everything is perfect.

My Coloring Book is OUT!

It is! My coloring book is officially ready to be colored in, courtesy of Amazon and coffee (haha!).

This cute lil coloring book features 25 pagan pictures celebrating the season of Yule. They are printed on only one side of each page, so that there won’t be any bleeding through the paper/smudging of colors.
